Venture — Co-Founder
Carib Coals
Co-founded a biomass-briquette manufacturing venture converting reclaimed wood and coconut-husk waste into a consumer charcoal product.
Overview
Wood-product manufacturing generates a continuous stream of offcuts and processing waste. Carib Coals was founded to convert that waste stream — sourced from an existing pallet manufacturing operation — into a saleable charcoal briquette product.
As co-founder, I was responsible for the product and production process, and for the brand built around it: naming, packaging design, and bilingual (English/Spanish) labelling for the target markets.
The venture is supported by an investor pitch deck and a three-year financial model built around a production target of 30 tonnes per week, using a feedstock that would otherwise be discarded.
Scope of work
- Developed the briquette product and its production process
- Built the brand identity and bilingual packaging
- Prepared the investor pitch and three-year financial model
- Designed the operation around a zero-cost waste feedstock
